Congratulations to high school senior Jesse Fuger, selected as one of this year's winners of the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund! Jesse will be pursuing his college degree at the University of Washington. Go Huskies! Jesse's father, Seth Fuger, has been a dedicated Local 305 member and long-time driver of Waste Management for nearly 20 years. The JRHMSF will provide Jesse a $10,000 award over a four-year period of attendance at college.
SCHOLARSHIPS WORTH $1.2 MILLION AWARDED TO TEAMSTER CHILDREN BY HOFFA FUND THIS YEAR
Teamster Families Across the United States and Canada Benefit
WASHINGTON – August 31, 2026 – More than 300 high school seniors who are the children of Teamsters Union members won academic and vocational scholarships from the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund this year. Valued at $1.2 million, the scholarship awards mark the 26th year that the Fund has distributed funds to support Teamster children in their goals of a college degree or vocational program.
“The Fund’s impact on Teamster families has been immeasurable,” said James P. Hoffa, Teamsters General President Emeritus. “Since the Fund’s founding in 1999, more than $18 million in scholarship assistance has been distributed. We are proud to support Teamster families.”
“The Fund’s continued strength is a direct result of the support we receive from Teamster affiliates. On behalf of the Board of the Fund, we are grateful for their support of this worthy cause assisting children of Teamster members,” said Hoffa.

James R. Hoffa became a Teamster member in 1934 and served as General President for 14 years, and, in recognition of his service to the union and its members, was honored as General President Emeritus. The JRHMSF is an independent organization established and registered as a tax-exempt entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Fund is established solely to provide scholarships to the child or dependent of a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and contributions to the Fund are deductible as charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law. *The application process for high school seniors will open at the end of November and will be posted on the website www.jrhmsf.org
